Isa Mustafa before the Electoral Assembly: I'm going back to science, but I won't stand up to political developments

So he has said, questioned about his future, following his resignation from the post of president of the Democratic League of Kosovo.

“I will now continue with a particular intensity of my scientific work”, Mustafa said the first day of the Democratic League of Kosovo Electoral Assembly”.

But politics he said that “is part of life”.

Nevertheless, he has said he will forward developments in Kosovo and will not remain neutral.

I will not remain neutral against my country's future, because I have been acting in building our citizenship”, Mustafa added.

In this interview for Albanian Post, Mustafa has also spoken of the election of the new LDK chairman, who is expected to be formalised Sunday in the Parliament of the Party.

The LDK is the only political party in Kosovo that has many candidates for chairmanship. In LDK, the mayor is elected, others are named. The candidacy is a matter of courage, courage”

It also has good words for four candidates aiming to sit in the LDK leader's seat for the next four years.

But according to him, “does damage cheering”.

Each candidate has different features, from leadership, political experience, knowledge and political skills, the mode of communication, so delegates with the secret vote will choose the man they offer to their party”, Mustafa added.

“does not match the secret vote with some public statements to any delegate or branch president about who they or branch delegates will vote on tomorrow. No one has the right to represent another's vote or to make decisions for the votes of others”.

While in terms of his resignation from the position of LDK chairman, he said he did because of the party's poor results in the February 14th elections.

“I am estimated that a change in the LDK leader may be a good act after very unsuccessful results in this election. So I expect an adaptation and organisation of the LDK and confronting the challenges facing”.

Candidates for LDK chairman are Besian Mustafa, Anton Kuni, Lutfi Haziri and Lumir Abdixhiku.

One of these names is expected to take over the party's reins Sunday at the LDK Election Assembly.

In the recent elections in Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo suffered a deep electoral decline to half the vote received 12.73 per cent of the vote.

Immediately after the elections, incumbent President Isa Mustafa, who has led the party since 2010, resigned.

After him, even all LDK leadership.

The next LDK chairman will be the fourth in party history, following founder Ibrahim Rugova, after his arrival Fatmir Sejdiu and at the end of Isa Mustafa.

The Democratic League of Kosovo was formed in 1989. It was winter that year when a group of intellectuals had decided to establish a political grouping.
