Insander got vote buying: Kurti-backed candidate became MP for only 875 votes

The newspaper Inseder yesterday has claimed finding video and audio evidence for the purchase of votes by a member of the New Democratic Initiative. [ IRDK] led by Elbert Krasniqi. This is in the wake of major scandals that have damaged the reputation of the February 14th elections. This newspaper adds that a vote [...]

This paper adds that a vote has been bought for 40 euros for the representative of the Egyptian community in Kosovo. Elbert Krasniqi, who also enjoyed Albin Kurti's support during the election campaign, has secured the seat of Kosovo's Parliament deputy, leaving the Egyptian Liberal Party's Veton Berisha out.

Krasniqi's IRDK had only 875 votes more than Berisha's PLE, though the first had strong support from Albin Kurti and other Vetvendosje deputies.

Berisha, who was MP in the past legislature, was also left out after Serbia's intervention that helped the Roma Initiative. [AFP] RI] by voting in municipalities where the Serb community is majority.

Insider finds that a supporter of The IRDK is caught asking for the vote of five members of a family in exchange for money.

“Bone IRDK and No 18. I told my sister even the voices in Istog and you give the dance”, says Elvis to the citizen with whom they bargained for five votes.

To get the job done, Elvis requires that members of this citizen's family testify with a photo vote for Elbert Krasniqi's IRDK and candidate Albiona Halimaj. ”

Albion Halimaj in this election has won 315 votes.

The IRDK chairman has distanced himself from such a thing by seeking investigation by competent bodies.

In the 2019 elections, Veton Berisha's PLEA had 4887 votes, or 0.58 percent. The IRDK on the other hand had only had 1755 votes, or 0.20 percent.

It is not known how much vote buying may have affected the Roma community's election outcome in this election.

Veton Berisha has so far given no comment on the issue. /Periscope
