Vitita said doctors could also be vaccinated in October “1st, while health professionals from other municipalities will be vaccinated at the vaccination centres at the QKMFs in municipalities.
The “24 thousand doses that have arrived last night will be provided for 24 thousand people, starting with health personnel, and once we are finished with health personnel, it will be started according to the list of inoculation plans for people over 80 years... In the capital, because of the University Clinical Centre, there is also the “1 October” Hall where they will receive most, besides the Infectious Clinic from the beginning, and the process of vaccine will take place. For doctors in other municipalities, however, it will be done in the vaccination centres at the main family medicine centres of each municipality”, Vitita said.
Regarding the container of vaccines offered by the Republic of Albania for Kosovo doctors, Minister Vitita said health personnel in Kosovo would be vaccinated with AstraZeneca doses for logistical reasons. He added, however, that they are in talks with the Albanian state to exploit these vaccines to vaccinate other categories.
There are 11 thousand doses he promised for the health staff, but because of logistical reasons doctors will take the vaccine here. Meanwhile, we are negotiating with the Republic of Albania to start another category besides health personnel to vaccinate with this container of vaccines offered very kindly and brotherhood by the Republic of Albania”, he said.
October 1st “October” today has initiated the first vaccines. The first to receive this vaccine is Prime Minister Albin Kurti, then O official BSH in Kosovo, Isme Humolli, infected Sali Ahmeti and actor Selman Jusuf.
AstraZeneca is given in two doses, with a three-week difference, while Kosovo last night has accepted the first 24 thousand doses of this vaccine. These doses are provided by the World Health Organization's COVAX programme.
On the basis of the vaccine plan, high risk groups, including health workers, residents and health workers for elderly care, over 80-year-old groups, and a portion of the chronically ill population (dial persons, diabetes persons, cardiovascular disease), will be vaccinated.
In this group, the total number of persons is estimated to be 54,000, or three percent of Kosovo's total population.
The second phase included 65-79 age groups, the remaining population with chronic diseases, teachers and security forces that are involved in managing the COVID-19 pandemic. This group is made up of 306,000 or 17 percent of the population.
In the meantime, for the third phase, it is projected to be vaccinated by 50 percent of the population in order to reach 900 thousand persons or 70 percent of total population coverage with an anti vaccine CO VID-19.
