So announced LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku after a meeting he held Wednesday with Vjosa Osmani, who is a candidate for president.

Obadiah called the meeting positive and constructive, saying his political subject still needs time to make a final decision.

Now, we've talked about its future role. We will need additional clarifications and we will have time for additional consultations within the party, and as soon as these two processes end, then we will also have the final decision. The meeting has been constructive and positive”, Abdixhiku said.

Furthermore, Abdixhiku said it has been discussed on the content of the platform, which Osman intends to implement if Kosovo president is elected.

We discussed the platform. We have no remarks on the content of the platform”, Abdixhiku said.

Asked whether there might be LDK deputies voting against the party's stance during the president's vote, Abdixhiku said this cannot happen because MPs will respect the party's decision.

Kurti: We call this session soon.

During Wednesday, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that very soon sessions will be called to vote on the new president.

He voiced confidence that Vjosa Osmani é, who in the election competed on the Vetevendosje Movement list, has full legitimacy to vote for presidents, as he said, has legitimised the people by giving them more than 300 thousand votes in the February 14th elections.

“... Of course, what the people voted on by over 300 thousand votes could be legitimised even with all the necessary votes in the assembly of the Republic Assembly of”, Kurti said.

Kurti said replacing MPs who have been appointed to government positions paves the way for the president's call.

However, LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku ordered Vetevendosje Movement not to call the session without finding the necessary consensus among political actors.

“Sance can be called at the first moment that there is compliance between political acts and not just from one side. We are in the process of building this compliance. If we get there, then we'll also determine the” session date, Obadiah stressed.

At a meeting held Wednesday, the Central Election Commission approved proposals to replace 13 MPs who are part of the government cabinet.

Krasniqi: Not to be called without consensus

Albert Krasniqi, policy researcher in the organisation “Democracy Plus”, says the meeting between LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku and presidential candidate Vjosa Osmani is a signal that they are moving towards electing the president.

Krasniqi says, however, the Vetevendosje Movement as the winner of the elections should be careful as far as it comes to calling for the president's vote.

According to him, the call of the session should occur when the needed consensus is reached.

“It is good when political parties like LDK, which have indicated that they will be in opposition, have constructive attitudes in relation to the election of the country's president and do not try to block at any cost the formation of new institutions even when they can do so, which we are seeing in other opposition political parties”, Krasniqi estimates.

PDK, neither vote nor quorum

Unlike the LDK, the Vetevendosje Movement and Vjosa Osmani cannot count on the votes, nor on the presence of Democratic Party of Kosovo deputies at the session where it is expected to be voted for the president.

Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Elmi Recica told Radio Free Europe that Osman is a political candidate and that someone apolitical is needed for president.

“The Democratic Party of Kosovo does not vote Vjosa Osman for presidents, given that it is political cigars and given that the campaign led only a political message and the president should be apolitical. ( PDK) It will neither vote nor make the quorum”, said Recica, whose subject has 19 seats in the Kosovo Assembly.

Even the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, which has eight deputies, has repeatedly been declared that it will neither vote nor make the quorum for the election of Vjosa Osman to the position of president of the country.

Quint requires quick presidential election

Following the new government vote, the Qut states have been active in demanding the election of the country's new president.

Quint has said that the first “of Kosovo's new institutions is the election of President”.

In the Fifth States group are: The United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and France.

The new Kosovo Assembly was dedicated on 22 March, and on the same day the new government headed by Albin Kurti of the Vetevendosje Movement was voted in.

The government Kurti 2 took the confidence of 67 deputies. To vote for the deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement and non-Serb communities.

Otherwise, parties of non-Serb communities have also expressed support for Osman's election.

The LVV has 58 seats in the assembly, while the Democratic League of Kosovo has 15.

Kosovo has been acting as president since November 5th of last year, after then, Hashim Thaci resigned due to confirmation of the war crimes indictment and crimes against humanity from the Specialised Chambers in The Hague.

By 22 March, Vjosa Osmani exercised this position, and since 22 March, the new Kosovo Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca is also the president's task manager.

How is the president elected?

For the president's election, in the first two votes, two-thirds of the vote is needed, and 80 votes are cast for MPs.

Meanwhile, in the third round, president is elected who gets the simple majority of 61 MPs, but in all three votes at least 80 MPs should participate.

If even the third round fails, the country goes to extraordinary elections that should be held within 45 days.
