The case “Drefus” was a political scandal separating the Third French Republic from 1894 to 1906. In 1894, Captain Alfred Drayfus was convicted of treason. Defuses was a 35-year-old French artillery officer of Hebrew origin. He was sentenced to life in prison on charges of communicating French military secrets at the German Embassy in Paris and imprisoned in the Devil's “illin” in French Guianana, where he spent almost five years on his freedom.
