Gucati and Haradinaj preliminary motions rejected

Gucatt and Haradinaj's defence have submitted the motions, saying there are shortcomings in the indictment against them, as well as do not recognise the jurisdiction of specialised Chambers in The Hague.

The judge of the preliminary procedure, Nicolas Giju, has dismissed the preliminary motions of Gucat and Haradinaj.

The judge of the preliminary procedure finds that the confirmed indictment defines with sufficient clarity and specific facts that support charges and crimes. Defence objections to the form of confirmed indictment have been rejected in line with these circumstances. For this reason, the preliminary Procedure Judge rejects Gucat's preliminary motion and that of Haradinaj”, the Specialised Chambers reported.

Gucati and Haradinaj were arrested in September last year, while charged with “obstructing justice”.
