Until 2020 was a very different year, the Happiness Report saw the negative and positive effects of pandemic.
For the fourth year in a row, Finland ranks the happiest country in the world, according to this year's World Happiness Report, Klan Kosova reports.
Unlike previous years, the index of happiness also included surveys of how countries dealt with pandemics that have shaken the world for more than a year.
The authors of this report have said this year's survey examined the effects of the crisis on people's lives's stock and quality, and looked at how governments treated it.
After Finland, the happiest countries were Iceland, Denmark, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
All Nordic countries ranked in the top 10 countries on the list, while Estonia was 28th and Russia was the happiest of all 149 nations surveyed.
The most unhappy state to be ranked last on this list was the southern African country, Zimbabwe. The last 10 countries on the list, most of which were Africans, were in difficult situations like civil unrest or war.
An estimated 1,000 people from each country responded to this survey. They were asked to assess the quality of their lives from zero to 10.
Other questions were how often they laughed or felt joy and satisfaction or worry, sadness, or anger during the days of 2020.
