President López Obrador explained that the deployment of fences around the Presidential Palace and other monuments prior to the March 8 march is for the protection of protesters and historic buildings.
From Maxcanú, Yucatán, the president claimed that “is not afraid” and that fences are to protect the Palace.
And there would be no provocations like the last march where bombs and explosives were thrown at the door of the building.
He noted that everyone has the right to protest and demonstrate, but that there are a lot of provocations, many people who infiltrate and demand it is to cause damage”.
“We don't want any party to get hurt, that is, we don't want public security forces to get hurt, and we don't want women protesting to be affected and hurt” - he said.
