Albin Kurti's party, the Vetevendosje Movement, emerged as the winner of the 6 October 2019 parliamentary elections, and managed to make a ruling coalition with the Democratic League of Kosovo, led by Isa Mustafa.
The new government from the beginning had problems in the actual functioning due to friction between the ruling coalition partners, which reached its peak after Interior Minister Agim Veliu from the LDK ranks said the number of Coronavirus affected is increasing from seconds to second.
This sparked Prime Minister Albin Kurti's immediate reaction by dismissing the minister from the ranks of the ruling partner, which caused numerous disappointments in the ranks of Mustafa's party, which later filed the no-confidence motion that resulted in Kurt's fall after only 50 days of work.
Otherwise, after the collapse of the Kurti government, the new government, led by Avdullah Hotin, from the LDK ranks, which also had no long life, following the Constitutional act that its election had been made legitimately and therefore the country went back to new elections.
While a year later, Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti again came to the helm of the Kosovo government, this was following the result of early parliamentary elections that were held on February 14th 2021, where the VV emerged the most voted party.
