Canal officials said that, however, little progress has been made, and they hope the ship can be released from the hammer where it remains Sunday evening.
“Ever Givenive” is blocked in the channel, one of the world's most frequent trajectorys, since Tuesday. More than 300 ships are stopped on both sides of the channel. Some shipping ships have already been set in motion by continuing to travel in another trajectory around Africa, but this journey is significantly longer.
On Saturday, about 20,000 tons of sand left, and 14 remortemers pulled “Ever Given” in an attempt to free him. Although the powerful current and the wind made efforts difficult, the contractors could shift it to 30 degrees degrees, in both directions. The images posted in “Twitter” seem to indicate the remortems blowing horns to celebrate this small victory.
Now officials say the water is starting to flow under the ship and that hopefully, very soon it will be able to shift to free the channel. According to data, the blockade is stopping goods worth $9.6 billion a day, or otherwise, it is blocking $400 million per hour.
Egypt itself is losing $14 million in revenue every day that the channel stays closed. Egyptian officials, meanwhile, have thanked the US, China and the United Arab Emirates for helping offer.
