At the end of January, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Taiwan were said to be the countries best managed by the pandemic.
But the BBC singles out a success case in Europe: Iceland.
The Nordic country, with fewer than half a million inhabitants, has almost conquered the virus. Only 6119 cases since the launch of pandemic and 29 victims. What is more, during this year, a victim of the Coronavirus has not yet been registered.
With about 20 new occasions a day, young people enjoy caraoques and restaurants. Even concerts have returned to Iceland.
One of the reasons for success, according to Iceland's leading epidemiologist Thorolfur Goodnason, is preparation.
I've been preparing for this pandemic for 15 years. As soon as the alarm went off around the world, we knew what we had to do. We tried hard, avoided contact, and isolated all infected. We've been doing this since day one.
Also, each person entering Iceland is tested and should remain quarantined for a certain period of time.
