The Association of Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL – UÇK) has said they have no information on the case, writes Periscopi.
Periscop has contacted OVL-KLA Secretary Faton Klink to get more information on former commander Peter Shala's case.
However, Klink told Periscop that there is no more information but only news on the media.
We don't have any information, just the ones that are going around the media”, Klink said.
Meanwhile, the Specialised Chambers said yesterday through a media communique that soon the indictment against Peter Shala will be published.
More information will soon be provided that will include public extraction information on the document confirmed with necessary editing. Based on the 88th Rule of Procedure and Evidence, the indictment is made public no later than the accused's first appearance”, so declared by the Special.
Meanwhile, Peter Shala was arrested yesterday by Belgian authorities in the bordering state of the Netherlands, where he is expected to be sent to detention. His arrest took place under an arrest warrant issued by the Special Court in The Hague.
Shala, who during 1998-1999 had served in the Dukagjini area as commander in the village of Dujaka, is accused of war crimes. The act against him has been confirmed by the Special Prosecution Judge.
In February 2019, Shala had said that he had been interviewed by investigators from the Prosecutor's Office in The Hague as a suspect./Periscopi/
