Minister-in-chief of Education Xhavit Rexhaj has said children will go to school on Monday and that there will be no week-long vacation as recommended to reduce the increasing number of cases of infection with COVID-19.
In the special edition in Klan Kosova, he has added that this decision comes as they have not been able to agree to the National Committee on Combating Pandemia.
The priority is that children go to school on Monday, and teachers go to work”.
Over the past four days, we have had an intensive discussion with the Government about how we will react to an assessment of the epidemiological situation in the country by IKSHPK, and as a result of that there has been an IKSHPK application for schools to relax two weeks in order to lower the growing trend of infection”.
The Ministry of Education has reviewed this request, and in the end, we have decided to react with a one-week break, plus to look at the situation at the end of that week and see how we're going to proceed away from”.
We had a meeting today and this proposal went to the Nacional Committee for Combating Pandemia. The situation was reviewed on the committee and possible measures in all sectors were considered, but no decisions were made, so in next week there will be no rest, but the lesson will continue”.
Rexhaj has indicated that the Health Ministry's side has been proposed to go on a week off.
“
So we have demanded that measures taken be part of a general package in all life sectors in Kosovo. However, the committee did not agree”.
