“We are deeply concerned about the alarming extent of the spread, the seriousness of the situation and the alarming level of inability in the fight against the virus. We think, that in the coming days and weeks, the number could increase”, the WHO leader declared as today a year ago.

Tedros sounded the alarm and asked all countries to test and isolate all cases so that the disease could be controlled.

“Find, isolate, test, handle each case and follow every trace of it”, he appealed.

A year later, the number of people who died worldwide because of the new type of coronary (COVID-19) amounted to 2 million and 632 thousand and 74, while the number of cases reached 118 million and 638 thousand and the number of cures increased to 94.228,506.

In Kosovo, the first cases with COVID-19 appeared on March 13th, two days after COVID was declared pandemic and a month after testing at the Infectious Clinic at QKUK.

In Kosovo, the total number of positive cases is 74,748 cases and 1.674 cases of death, while the total number of cures is 62,983 cases, while the number of active cases is 10,091.

In Albania, the total number of positive cases is 114,840 cases and 1,986 cases of death, while the total number of cures is 77,498, while the number of active cases is 35.356.
