Kosovo's Constitutional Court will continue to send letters of congratulations, towards state leaders once they take office.
From this institution, they have responded to Clen Kosova.tv that sending letters of congratulations is standard, which is stressed that it will continue in the future as well.
“Letters exchanged for appointments between state institutional carriers are standard and ordinary practice of any democratic country. Sending letters with the case of the appointments of top state officials to the Republic of Kosovo: President, Chief Parliamentary, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Ombudsman and other institutional carriers, has been and will remain the practice of the Constitutional Court in the future alike.
“Such publications have been sent by the Court even in the case of selecting the prime ministers indiscretion of party affiliation -- that is, from PDK, LDK, AAK and ultimately even LVV -- that exposes many false and unstable statements that have been published in the media today by different subjects and individuals”.
“So this should therefore not and cannot be perceived as “subservation” to no other institution, but exclusively and only as an expression of goodwill for inter-institutional co-operation, with the aim of promoting and protecting constitutionality and legitimacy in the country”.
From this court say the decision-making independence and institutional integrity of the Constitutional Court, as well as any other independent state institution, are open and guaranteed even with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Constitutional Court has already witnessed this through its decision-making since its establishment, where exactly as a consequence of these decisions have resigned and some of the leading institutional carriers” have changed.
This Friday a letter sent by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo towards Prime Minister Albin Kurti has sparked reactions, including the opposition party LDK.
