A third wave of the Ovidius pandemic is now advancing rapidly across Europe. As a result, many nations blocked by slow vaccine campaigns are seeing significant increase in cases.
The level of infection in the EU is now at the highest level since the beginning of February, with the spread of new variants of the Cavido-19 virus.
Some countries are set to impose strict new measures of deadlock in the coming days in contrast to the United Kingdom, which has slowly begun to reopen.
In Italy, authorities recorded more than 26,000 new cases and 317 deaths. By Monday, much of Italy will be placed under a deadlock and people will be allowed to leave their homes only for substantial reasons. Most shops will be closed, along with bars and restaurants.
In France, the situation remains critical. At this 24 hours, nearly 30,000 cases were recorded. High infection figures have led to historical levels the number of laid-downs in intensive therapy, which occupied 70% of the total by putting the entire local hospital system into crisis. President Macron has imposed bans on travel and other restrictions in several regions.
In Germany, 10,554 new Covid infections were reported, an increase of 3,117 from last week, after the head of the country's infectious disease agency acknowledged that the country was now in the capture of a third wave of Covid-19.
Similarly in Poland, over 21,000 new cases, the highest daily figure since November. New pandemic restrictions are likely to be announced this week. Polish authorities have already imposed strict restrictions, including stopping social gatherings, closing schools and restaurants can serve meals only with deliversy.
In addition, the two states of Hungary and the Czech Republic have reported high levels of infection and death by Covid, and health officials have warned that the figures will likely deteriorate in the coming weeks.
