There has been a case of a 28-year-old girl who was caused by clots after taking the AstraZeneca vaccine in Serbia, the first dose. The symptoms were presented to him about a week after he received the vaccine. She is currently in hospital treatment”, said Venko Filipce, minister of health.
Health authorities in the country have suspended the use of this vaccine for persons under the age of 60, thus following the example of Canada and Germany.
We've decided to be careful so we'll also expect final confirmation that this vaccine is safe. I'm also meeting with the Barnet Safety Agency that we want to exchange information with and ask the European Agency for Medicine and the Foreign Ministry of Germany questions. Side effects are blood clotting, but this has happened in the smallest number of people”, the minister added.
In the meantime, just with the AstraZeneca vaccine, which came to 24 thousand doses from the Covax system, population vaccine over 77 has begun today. Those interviewed say Euronews Albania that the vaccine has gone well and do not expect serious side effects.
I feel great. I don't have a reaction or anything. I've been 79 years. There's a good order, it's all properly organized... Now we just have to defend ourselves. If I have any responses, I'm told to take medication for calm and temperature, nothing else. In three months, I'll take the next round of”, one citizen said.
I feel great. At least I'm fine right now. They asked me if I was sick before. I took a vaccine and gave answers to everything. They gave me instructions on how to protect further”, pointed out another.
One of the citizens says doctors have asked him to show increased care and to continue wearing a mask.
I'm fine. They said I should take care of myself. We shouldn't drink alcohol. We have to wear a mask. Let's not move too much”, another stressed.
Population vaccine over 77 is taking place throughout the country. Northern Macedonia expects the following weeks to receive even larger shipments of vaccines from Russian and Chinese producers. With those amounts of vaccines, mass population inoculation and other priority groups will follow. /Euronews Albania
