Biden and Harris Pledge to Fight Racism

The president of the United States, Joe Biden, and vice president, Kamala Harris, condemned racism until they comforted the inhabitants of Atlanta, a few days after an armed man killed eight other Asian women in three massage centers. “We need to talk, we need to act”, President Biden said, until he called on Americans [...]
“We need to talk, we need to act”, President Biden said, until he called on Americans “to fight this xenophobic revival”. He made these comments after discussions with the Asian-American community in the state of Georgia.
Beden said he had a <x0 achievement” harassment and violence against Asians. He did not mention former president, Donald Trump, but said Americans “are again learning what we have always known: words have consequences. It's the Coronervirus, point”. Former President Trump was often criticised for his continuing statements, in which he called the new coronavirus as the “virus of China”.
Recent murders have intensified debate on race, gender, migrants to the United States. Security organs say the alleged killer, identified as 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long, did not seem to have targeted women because they were Asian, but investigators have not ruled out raciality. Long told investigators that a sex addiction motivated him to commit violence.
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Chris Wray said in an interview with the radio NPR, on March 19th, that the motive of the armed person is not yet clear.
Vice President Kamala Harris said that while the motive continues to be investigated, it is clear that six of the eight killed were of Asian origin and seven were women. “Racism is true in America. And it's always been. Xenophobic is real in America, and always has been. Sexism, also”, she said.
The President and I will not be silent. We will always speak against violence, hate crimes and discrimination, wherever and whenever it happens”, Harris said.
