The Beden plan, which is expected to announce in a speech in Pittsburgh at noon Wednesday, includes “historical and galvanising investments” in traditional infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges and highway, as well as billions of dollars to strengthen the power grid.
He will propose that payments for new expenditures be made by substantial increases in corporate taxes.
The package, known as the American employment plan, is only the first part of Mr. Beden. His advisers have said he will present a second legislative package for next month that will focus on investments in health care, child care and education.
The ratio of proposals expected to reach $4 trillion has been compared to the New Franklin Roosevelt Course and Lyndon Johnson's Great Society, writes The Guardian, following Periscope.
