Former soldier of The KLA, Peter Shala, has been arrested in Belgium on Tuesday under a confirmed arrest and indictment for war crimes by the trial judge of the specialised Chambers' preliminary procedure.
IKD researcher Gzim Shala has said such arrests could be expected in the future, Klan Kosova reports.
If we look statistically at the arrest numbers, it's not surprising that this arrest will occur, but there will be more arrests. Based on the work that the Special Court has done so far we still don't know how many people are being suspected and how many cases are in procedure to confirm the indictment. That is why the appearance of young people who are arrested near this court may happen even the following days. If we refer to the number of detainees, this is the sixth person to have been arrested for cases related to the Special Court, because two others have been for criminally managing justice with special work. Even in the future, there may be arrests for criminal acts that are under the jurisdiction of this court”.
Shala in Info Magazine has also spoken of the length of the trial of these defendants by the Special Court.
The defendant's “speaks of the outcome of judgment within a reasonable period. It doesn't exactly determine how many days, months, or years. But each case is to have its own specifications and, according to them, process”.
He also said that the Special Court should not hold hostile approaches in order to convince the public that it has justice.
