Albin Kurti: We have to act on how Skenderbeu would act.

Vetevendosje Chairman Kurti has made a long lecture on the Lezha Testament, praising Skenderbeu and other Albanian leaders of the time.

He has forgotten to mention that among the historical figures was Stefan Crnojevic.

Honoured Shaip Kamberi, Albanian leader in Persevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc and deputy in the country's Parliament,

Brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen,

The Lezha Assembly is the first by its nature where Albanian nobles and feudalists in the 15th century participated in a common assembly with the aim of bringing relief from Ottoman invaders. Lezha had an important geographical position and was under Venetian possession, which has been interpreted as the invitation of Albanian nobles for co-operation with the Venetians against Ottomans. The Assembly was held in St. Call's Cathedral, where historical figures such as: Skenderbeu, Aryanj, Andre Topia, Komi, Muzaca, Tanus Topia, Gjergj Balsha, Nicole and Pal Dukaagjini, Peter Spani, Leke Zechariah, Theodore Muzaca, Jr., Leke Dushmani, Stefan Djurdashi, and others. In his opening speech, Skenderbeu, that world, laid out the necessity and importance of the Albanian political and military union, while other participants discussed the ways and possibilities of realising this co-operation.

The Assembly was institutionalised as the highest political forum of decisionmakers, Albanian nobles, and held over and over again. The Union was decided to take place by means of a political covenant between the owners of the free and uncut lands, which was known as the Albanian Lezha Testament. The chairman of the Albanian Lezha Testament was Skenderbeu. The constitution was approved in the establishment of a joint Albanian army, and Skenderbeu was appointed as its commander-in-chief. The army was formed by permanent and temporary forces. The permanent forces were the fighters that Albanian nobles sent to fight together with Skenderbeun, while the provisional forces were called when there was active fighting with the Ottomans.

The covenant had its own common ark, in which only by contributing the nobles were the revenues of St. Call's salts, owned by the Kastriots by customs duties, grain trade, and metals. Through the Testament, Albanian nobles were intent on preserving their independence from Ottomans, while they ruled by the principle that although Skenderbeu was the head of the shallow, none had the right to interfere with the other's possessions. From this principle comes the expression regarding this historic event, first of all, in the binding of Lezha's trust for the nobles and the Arab lands.

Today, on March 2nd, as we mark the anniversary of the Lezha Testament, of the covenant, which is the political, public, and collective act of engagement, of the bond of mutual desire with each one's action, we need to think and act on how Skenderbeu would think and act on our reborns and to the warriors and martyrs in particular, of the recent war in Kosovo. So we have to follow the torch that has been carried through generations to generation history, so that the Albanian people wherever it is to be factored out, bring out its best and most devoted representatives, and thus, the multiple crisis that has plagued it with relief, unity, development, and overall progress. Today, here at the Albanian national flag and the Lezha Testament, we bow to him with eternal honor and pledge to join us forever, our national hero Skenderbeu and all Albanian warriors in all the ages of our nation.
