“Buckshot” Smith, from the small town of Camden, Arkansas, worked as a substitute for 46 years before retirement. The retreat lasted for just a few months after the elderly man soon realized that he was out of work.
“Buckshot” Smith said that he loves work as a police officer, and that's what moved him to become part of this profession in the 1960s.
The officer is loved and known throughout the city. Everyone stops and talks to him when they see her, public relations official Dana Weatherby says.
On working days, Smith likes to attend church services and spend time with his wife.
