Of the 5 thousand public officials, only 600 have declared property so far, the AKK warns criminal charges

Of the 5,000 public officials, only 600 have done so since March 1st when the declaration of property to public officials has begun. Department for Prevention of Corruption Director in (AKK) Africa Atashi has said the percentage of officials [...]
The director of the Department for Prevention of Corruption in (AKK), Africa Atashi, has said that the percentage of senior officials who have made the performance of property is small.
“E we have a bad practice because high officials usually let the property declaration last two days, or last week. And we have a huge overload because they've recently consulted all forms that we can review for eventual errors, and that's an obstacle to a bad practice. So far, many high-ranking property officials have not declared it, which is now half a month and 550 officials or 600 have declared, from the total of 4850 to 5,000, which is a very small percentage”, it is expressed.
Director Atashi has also warned that public officials who do not make the presentation of property within the deadline of March 31st will be prosecuted for criminal proceedings.
“As always, the law stipulates that the property declaration process or regular property declaration begins on March 1st and ends on March 31st. We believe that by March 31st this process will be completed if we do not have other measures, meanwhile, it must be made by a split decision or a postponement like last year. But I'm believing that online reporting won't prevent senior officials even if we have relatively restrictive measures to declare wealth. All of those top public officials who do not declare property in the pre-lawing time in March we will start legal procedures that are presenting criminal disapproving, because failure to declare property and false statements are criminal acts and we will certainly take measures to send to competent prosecutors” has he said of EO.
But Atashi has indicated that those officials who have reason for failing to declare wealth will not be sensitized even if the deadline for her presentation is over.
All those officials who give no reason for contempt because we have one that might be infected, if you were in hospitals and then various cases that are reasons why we publish and tell him the reasons. It is accepted and reasoned because it can happen even more practically because there are senior officials who have been in medical records that have been lying in the hospital and that's a valid reason not to be sanctioned because it has not had any physical or any other way of declaring property” it added.
