The brutal assault and beating of journalist Visar Durqi is an attack on speech and free thought. So it's an attack on one of the fundamental pillars of freedom. And so it is an attack on us, on the values and universal principles that our Republic must protect and cultivate.

Any attack on journalists is an attack against democracy and a product of the ruling social climate. The assault on Visar Duriq is an attempt to silence the criticism. It's an attack to kill the plurality of thought.

The attack on him more scatters the weakness of the attackers than will the work of Visar. Visar is not likely to be intimidated or stopped. It is one of Kosovo's most courageous and vocal journalists.

But it's in our rule institutions that the attackers find and bring to justice. And it's in our society in general, and in our particular institutional, social, party organizations, to condemn this attack and attacks like this so that they never happen again. /Periscope.
