CEC member Alym Rama from the VV again has been concerned why CEC members are holding back from proceeding with the ballot package coming on Saturday.

He said that the video message to call on citizens to participate in the elections should not be made by a person who has lost credibility and considers himself a hated person.

“A video I contested at the Public Information Council has to say that you leaders declared a week ago that you are the most hated person in Kosovo. So I don't think it's reasonable that now the video invitation to come from a person who's lost credibility. So I had asked that the CEC as a whole make the collective invitation to invite the voter to the elections, said Rama.

This statement by VV representative has been responded to by CEC head Valdete Daka.

Rama responding to Daka said that the reason for losing credibility is the rejection of the procedure by the diaspora on Saturday.

“Yes, you voted earlier not to allow citizens to be counted votes Saturday and not to take the packages into account on Saturday. Now you can go”, he said.

After that, Daka and the other members of this institution left the hall and abandoned the CEC meeting.

Reactions for closing the meeting thus came from other CEC member Sami Kurteshi.

At today's CEC meeting, however, it has been said that by yesterday, from the diaspora to the CEC have reached 5 000 and 754 packages of balloting.

However, CEC Secretariat chief Burim Ahmetaj said at today's meeting that there may be more balloting in these packages.

Ahmetaj has indicated that they are being held at the Ministry of Infrastructure with high security until he has added that on election day these packages will be sent to the QNR for treatment and counting.

The location where all these shipments will be held is in the space of the Ministry of Infrastructure. The place is well secured, we have four functional cameras in the interior, and a camera that provides outer space. Of course it is the Kosovo police making security of the facility. Today we are expected to receive shipments from two more posts, one of which is DHL. On February 6th, 2,000 and 776 packets of quick mail ballotes have been accepted. DHL, on February 8th, two thousand and 799 packages have been accepted from the mail transit centre and 179 packages from post number six, with a total of 5 000 and 754 packages of balloting, while in the package there may be more envelopes. The secretariat predicts that on February 14th, the transfer of shipments from the country to hold at the QNR, where the package assessment” will be made, Ahmetaj said.

Over 60,000 observers from some political subjects, media and NGOs have also been accredited at today's CEC meeting. While the total number of accredited observers has so far reached about 30,000 for monitoring elections on February 14th.

The CEC has also approved the document “Election Threes in the Republic of Kosovo 2009-2019”.
