Vucinqi shows how to host Lajcak, and does he expect recognition of Kosovo required

Miroslav Lajcak will visit Pristina and Belgrade next week. For days, there has been speculation that he would carry a letter to Serbia on a request to recognise Kosovo's independence. Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq denies it, but does not rule out the pressure in the coming period. It seems Miroslav Lajcak has faced [...]
It appears Miroslav Lajcak has faced the same challenges for nearly a year, since the beginning of his mandate as EU mediator in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
“There are no longer those carrots in the form of EU integration that were supposed to serve as a sedative for Serbian public opinion to say that “lost Kosovo, but gained EU membership”. None of this will last long. I think his mission will be unsuccessful from the tactical level, he comes exclusively to feel the pulse after the last elections in Pristina”, says Dusan Prorokovic, analyst.
On the eve of his visit to Pristina and Belgrade, Lajcak found himself in the spotlight. Earlyly, he posted a photo from his office to Twitter, but attention went where the s '%s' had gone to the European emissar's mind on the map behind him where Kosovo was within Serbia's borders.
His and EU efforts to explain, provoked new reactions. Lajcak explained that this was the official map of the EU, that Kosovo was there, and that it was there to separate Kosovo from Serbia, but that line was much more thin than those marking the state borders of other countries. Finally, he seems to have seen in this a confirmation of the importance of dialogue.
Although the president of the United States of America, Joe Biden called on Serbia for mutual recognition with Kosovo, the European Union believes that only Pristina and Belgrade can reach the necessary compromise.
European Union spokesman Peter Stano has said the main goal of dialogue is to reach a comprehensive agreement, while not mentioning mutual recognition.
