The vaccine certificates within the European Union may be ready to be used within three months, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen declared during the virtual summit of union leaders.
The vaccine passport will be functional for those who took the dose of vaccine, have a negative test. The PCR has created antibodies.
And while the southern countries of Europe, like Greece and Spain, strongly support such an idea what they think would help restore the economy, northern countries like Germany are skeptical if this system were to function.
Meanwhile, in the neighbouring state from Friday, digital vaccine certificates have been launched. Citizens who have received two doses of the vaccine have the right to withdraw a digital certificate for which they can apply through the official government page.
Nearly 40,000 vaccine certificates were issued within 24 hours of the start of the platform on Friday. Greece ranks 12th among the 27 EU nations in terms of vaccines for 100 residents.
