Vetevendosje broke election silence, could be punished by 25 thousand euros

Election silence is envisioned one day before election day.

Sentences for a political party could range from 6 thousand euros to 25 thousand.

According to, PZAP, the penalties for parties depend on certain criteria and the way the electoral silence has been broken.

And it was today during the day, the Vetevendosje Movement, holding a rally of sympathies at one of the hotels in downtown Pristina.

Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti has also been seen at the rally as he joined the meeting with numerous cheers.

“During electoral silence political parties were prohibited distribution or appearance in any other way by the voting centre, or 100 meters within the space of the same, of any sort material with the aim of influence on voters”, the regulation said.

Also during 24 hours of electoral silence, all subjects are prohibited from campaigning in any way for casting votes or influence on voters

For these violations, subjects which are represented in the Kosovo Assembly are punished by between 6 thousand and 25 thousand euros, while those that are not represented by 5 thousand and 5 percent to 20 thousand.
