In Likoshan and Crees, specifically at the site called “The three oaks”, fighting took place between the Kosovo Liberation Army and Serb criminal forces.
Several Serb police officers were killed in the ongoing fighting. As a result, enemy forces surrounded the two villages where 24 innocent civilians were executed.
On February 28th 1998, in Likoshan and Crees of Drenica, Serbian police in the worst manner killed women, elders, men and young unarmed men, in their courtyards and houses, in the wake of a clash with a KLA unit at 6njak Liss.
The innocent victims, only killed, were massacred. With this act, the Serbian police and military began campaigning for mass acts of murder, massacres, genocide, burning and ethnic cleansing for two years (1998-1999).
