The temperature to -30 degrees in Russia, the cold includes Poland and the Netherlands

Russia

Snow in Russia is hardly a surprise at this time of year, but during this week the capital is covered by a record wave of cold.

During the night temperatures have gone to minus 30 degrees Celsius, 12 degrees less than normal parameters.

In many regions, thousands of families are suffering from a lack of heat and hot water, as municipal systems have been damaged because of low temperatures.

In the coldest cities, students have been asked to stay at home.

Poland

Heavy snowfall has also caused problems in Poland. Roads are blocked and road cleaning services cannot continue their work.

It's hard, I suggest the elderly don't get out, don't move with crutches. I'm not using them, but it's hard for me to walk, I'm afraid, I'm not a 20-year-old and I don't want to fall”, a citizen said.

Netherlands

The Netherlands is also experiencing an icy wave. The snow, which has reached 50-60cm, has blocked many key highways in the country, service employees tried to clear the snow, but the strong wind turned it back into the street.

Snowfalls have caused air travel to cease.

England

In the United Kingdom a thick layer of snow has covered Yorkshire Dales in northern England as the storm Darcy brought snow and ice.

Authorities have advised caution throughout the country as such weather conditions continue at least until Wednesday.
