For the study published in Radiology magazine, researchers examined the magnetic resonance of 129 critical patients in France between March 4 and May 1.
Advanced tests showed that 9 out of 129 patients, or 7%, had one or several injuries in the eye. They were largely damage or possible blockage of blood vessels, small bloodbles in the eye, or damage to nerve fibers. All except one of the affected patients had injuries in both eyes.
Our data supports the need to examine and track patients to ensure proper treatment and improve the management of potentially serious ophthalmological shows”, the study authors said.
