Defence Minister in Serbia Nebojsa Stefanovic says Kosovo cannot have armies, according to him, because Resolution 1244 says there can be no other army in Kosovo except KFOR.

He says Kosovo is trying to transform security forces into the military, the newspaper Express broadcasts.

This is completely pointless! According to Resolution 1244 and all other international acts, there can be no other army in Kosovo except KFOR. And Pristina institutions are constantly trying to transform so-called security forces into the so-called army, which they have no right to, and we show all international partners that they have no right to do so. And in that way, they can only further endanger the safety of Serbs”, Stefanovic says of Kosovo Online.

Anpse says Serbia is working in security forces, he adds that this does not mean Serbia has no challenges.

“of course, even at this moment, Kosovo is a major security challenge for our country. We are trying to fight with all diplomatic means that Serbs in Kosovo are safe and secure and never give up. There are also migration flows, which partly pass through our southern province, but we are certainly concerned mainly because of the overall political situation in the southern province, because Pristina institutions are not up to the task of ensuring a normal life for Serbs and Albanians”, he added.
