Following a plenary debate, which went on and off since Wednesday, a large majority of the deputies present voted today in favour of the government's motion.

The state of emergency, which was proclaimed on October 1st and has already lasted several times, will remain in force until March 19th.

Among other things, the state of emergency allows for the recruiting and forced transfer of health workers and the ban on gatherings.

A curfew has been decided since the beginning of the year, but it is difficult to control because of confused exceptions.

Almost 7 thousand deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded in Slovakia so far.

According to Slovak health authorities, there have been 303 420 confirmed cases of coronary in the country since the outbreak of pandemic.

According to agency E The CDC, the number of new infections for 100,000 residents in Slovakia, has been 526 in the last 14 days, more than four times higher than in Germany, in contrast.

With 239.3 deaths from COVID-19 per million people in the last 14 days, Slovakia is currently ahead of all other countries in Europe.
