Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Nikola Sellakovic, said today that Serbia is sticking to its obligations from the Washington Agreement, but he stresses that if others do not abide by these obligations and that Serbia will not be, as he said, “voodoo” and the mute “surveying”. Report Tanjug.
At today's press conference after meeting with his Macedonian counterpart, Albanian Minister Bujar Osmani, he commented on media claims there that five countries in the world are willing to withdraw the decision to recognise Kosovo's independence.
Asked whether this means Belgrade will continue its campaign in the struggle for recognition, because Pristina is continuing lobbie activities at the global level for membership in international organisations, which was suspended by Washington's agreement, Sakkovic said Serbia is acting as a reliable partner and state, while adding that it must abide by what has been agreed, “which means that we are not someone who violates the” agreements.
“We are sticking to our obligations from Washington's agreement, however, if others do not adhere to them, we should not expect to be just a voodoo doll and a mute observer”, Sakkovic said briefly.
He added that Belgrade gives absolute priority to dialogue as a way to resolve all open issues, both domestic and regional issues of interest to Serbia.
