Seismologist shows how many earthquakes there have been in Kosovo during February

We don't actually have the high level of seismic risk as do other countries in the region, but we are close on the basis of Kosovo's seismic risk map, on the basis of the Balkan risk map, and on Europe, which is the newest project and study that puts Kosovo in a relatively high seismic activity area, with areas like: Peja-Istog, Prizren-Gjakova, Ferizaj-Viti-Gylan and the two areas that are a little easier the Drenica area and Pristina-Mitrovica”, Krasniqi said.

There's actually no place for concern and panic, because this earthquake right now for this month we've had 12-13 quakes with magnitude 2.0 to 3.7 and what happened in Gjilan so there's no room for concern or panic in citizens. The panic and concern among citizens has been created based on the fact that the following two years there were several earthquakes in countries in the region, and there were actually some very serious events where there were powerful earthquakes, with human consequences, and this event has remained in the memory of Kosovo citizens”, he stressed.

Mustafa stresses that the greatest care must be from designers, and builders to implement designs on the ground properly.

We're actually in an area of relatively high seismic activity, not like the countries of the region, but we have to be particularly careful about designers, builders and all those who implement projecting jobs on the ground. He also said that of all natural disasters the earthquake is the most feared and timeless.
