In his first international interview, the U.S. chief diplomat stressed the importance of vaccinating people against the Devi-19 disease worldwide.
He also criticised China for its lack of transparency to detect the origin and spread of the Coronobrus. Blinketin's statement came on the day G7 Group leaders held a virtual meeting.
The United States will donate $4 billion to the vaccine programme Covax, with which distribution of over two billion vaccine doses in 190 countries is targeted in less than a year.
Until everyone in the world is vaccinated, no one is completely safe, because if the virus is still there and continues to spread, it will also undergo changes and if it is changing, it will return and affect people everywhere”, the State Department chief said.
He also spoke about the dispute with Iran over the nuclear programme, saying the US and Europe are back on the same line on the issue.
“President Biden has been clear as long as Iran returns to nuclear agreement obligations, the United States will do the same”, Blinken said.
