It's more scary than El Chapo”, DEA legend: The cartel boss may never be arrested

In an interview for “The Sun”, Mike Vigil, former chief of The American DEA, which for decades has already been hunting the bosses of Mexican drug cartels, says El Mencho already has much more power than El Chapo had. He has an armed army “up to his teeth” to protect his empire worth $1 billion, Vigil says.

I would describe him as an extremely violent man, very cunning, but not as most drug traffickers, says Vigil.

The acts of violence that members of his cartel, called Jalisco Nueva Generation, have been compared to those of ISIS in the Middle East. The confessions of terrorist-type attacks, or dehuman torture, to rivals, by removing their hearts, throwing them into acid, or by hanging them in the middle of town, have served to boost El Mencho's reputation.

His private army has often challenged the well-armed Mexican army. He's DEA's most wanted criminal, offering $10 million reward to anyone who helps capture him.

Vigil watched closely El Mencho and his cartel. “is deadly like a rattled snake and much more deadly than El Chapo”, he says. It's very different from El Chapo, it doesn't run after women and luxury, but it invests a lot of money in the creation of paramilitary forces that move by armour. Many traffickers invest in shopping malls, farms, jewelry and real estate. But El Mencho invests in his people and only adds the ranks to the Jalisco Nueva Generion” cartel.

He believes such a paranoid person will hardly ever be arrested. “works hard and I don't see any hope for his capture right now. It stands at a maximum of 2 nights in the same location and moves around with a large lead and equipped with heavy weapons.
