Navajo, who had accused the Russian president and his allies of stealing billions, was sentenced to prison for violating freedom on bail because of the 2014 condemnation. He has said the case against him had been politically motivated.
The court had received the 10 months it had spent under house arrest from its initial sentence of three and a half years.
The court ruling makes Navajo the most famous prisoner in Russia.
In a harsh speech from the court's chamber decorated with portraits of Cicion and Montesquie, Navlanny accused Putin of ordering his murder and said the Russian leader's approach was “the killing of people”.
The Kremlin's decision to send Navajo to prison comes despite massive street protests and international factor denouncing. /Periscope
