Rugova: There's a tendency to pump the LDK chairman

Rugova in an interview for KosovoPress says such things will only damage the LDK more, and especially in the local elections.

This leadership, according to me, must stand completely by the side because of the election debalbel that has suffered LDK under the leadership of this leadership. They should not put their hands in party election and leadership. The tendency is being observed to impose these, I'm considering that these are trying to call the extraordinary and electoral Assembly without an analysis and elaboration of causes. These can also make such a cosmetic, but how can they reform the party and move away this leadership that brought the party to this state and that degree. Any improvised and attempted recycling of figures that are part of this election fund, I fear it will harm the LDK. The idea of holding elections now, at a 60-day deadline, 30 days per sub-deg, 15 days per branch, and 15 days for the electoral Assembly, gives us a comfort to open up debate and our faith to return membership”, he says.

He says calling off the extraordinary Assembly without an analysis and without an apology to the General Council and membership is the wrong approach.

These “are trying to call perhaps in the first ten days of March an extraordinary election nation, without an analysis, without a report, without an apology. This leadership should apologise to the one who has chosen it, apologise to the General Council for terminating this leadership and apologize to the LDK membership. Without a reform and no election from the base, refreshing and substantial reconfiguration with competent names and leaders reflecting unity, I fear that in local elections the LDK will be damaged even more”, Rugova says.

Regarding possible candidacys for LDK chairman Rugova says all names being mentioned are part of the leadership that has brought the party into this situation.

All of them, some are deputy chairman of Isa Mustaf, some are members of leadership and are part of that 31st party that have brought the party into this situation. With, or their inaction, because the inaction of those who were involved has simply punished us. Therefore, Mr. Quinn is one of those who has spoken publicly that he will run, now we will see official candidacys and I as delegates will say my word for everyone, but where is the place in the LDK Assembly of”, he declares.

In addition, Rugova called for the opening of the LDK to new frameworks.

I now believe that the LDK must open, reflect, create conditions for all people who have political, professional weight and want the political philosophy of the LDK. Let's open the doors and unify”, he says.

The Democratic League of Kosovo is expected to hold the party's Electoral Assembly on March 14th for the election of the new chairman and structures.
