“Albania along with Serbia are the only countries that have started vaccinating for doctors and nurses”, the executive head said.
He also announced that last night he received confirmation that during February, more than 400,000 doses will come from Pfizer. With these doses coming, Rama said that the vaccine of all white shirts is possible, but it will also be launched with the elderly.
We've learned immunization needs the whole cycle, and what's most important is that we've entered into contract implementation with Pfizer. Yesterday came the doses that opened the way. Of course, if we look at the numbers narrowly and if we don't see the whole picture and the whole plan then it seems very little, but in fact, let's not forget that in the region we're the only country together with Serbia that has entered the contract and has begun vaccinating doctors and nurses. Second, let's not forget that the general vaccination situation in all of Europe is extremely chaotic. Third, late yesterday night we got confirmation from Pfizer that, in mid-February, ten thousand copies of projected doses arrive, and within February came another 30,000 change of doses according to the late-night engagement last night. We're ready to vaccinate all doctors and nurses and start with those who are older --”, Rama said.
The Albanian prime minister added that the government is close to an agreement with AstraZeneca, while stressing that the scenario for vaccinating the population in 14 months is still feasible.
The head of the government said the situation is dynamic, while promising to publicise the analysis of antibodies to prove that it did not receive physical water, but the vaccine.
There is no fixed thing, no fixed date is a dynamic situation for all. Leave science to scientists, and do not engage in arguments that are very complicated in scientific nature. The vaccine is willing. The vaccine is not for pay, it's for free. We advise everyone not to hesitate to do so. The reason I come here is just to convey this message.
