Using the deadly force against demonstrators was condemned by the UN, as well as by countries like France, Singapore and Britain, while Facebook reportedly had wiped out the country's main military page. It says the army had violated its standards of halting violence, writes The Guardian, term Periscopi.
Tensions in Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar, are reported to have broken down when police and soldiers confronted several workers who were taking place together in the nationwide protest.
A 23-year-old protester named Hla said she had been pressing protest slogans at the time.
