The leader, caught this morning, said the army was trying to re-establish the dictatorship.
“I urge the people not to accept this, to respond and wholeheartedly protest against the puchi from the army,” says in a statement issued in her name, the Guardian, translates Periscopi.
Military television reported this morning that the military had taken over the country for a year, with power giving commander Min Aung Hling.
It said that the army had declared a state of emergency, and had imprisoned the leading government leaders as response to “fraud” during the last general election.
