Both parents' murder suspect in Prizren is being tried in Stockholm

On Stockholm has begun the trial of a 37-year-old, descended from Kosovo, as the main suspect in his parents' murder. The murder occurred on January 22, 2020, in Prizren. The man and woman were shot in the head with a Zastava-type gun. The weapon was left at the scene in [...]

According to Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter, the 37-year-old had been looking through the internet for a contract killer in Ukraine. He had paid a decade of 300 euros to kill his parents. And the moment he realized that he had been deceived, he took things into his own hands.

And as the media had informed us in Kosovo, on January 22nd of last year, in a house in Prizren had found two people killed. It was about a man and woman, aged 62 and 56, both of whom had jobs and an attitude in Sweden for the last 30 years and Swedish citizenship.

Then relatives two grown children in Sweden had tried for several days in vain to contact them.

The man and woman were shot in the head with a Zastava-type gun. The gun remained at the scene, at the common house of the Parisan couple.

Two hamburgers and a ordered pizza, something the police did in the Kosovo immediately suspected that three people had dined together shortly before the murder took place.

Two children raised in Sweden testified that they had recently contacted their parents on the afternoon of January 20. The autopsy also indicated that the couple were likely killed on the evening of January 20th.

The allegations were quickly directed to the third brother, a 37-year-old man. For several years he had no contact with his brother and sister. Before the murder, he was seen by neighbors living at home, and his brother and sister had told the police in Kosovo that the relationship with the 37-year-old was complicated, but that parents still kept in touch with him and that they had tried to convince him to return to his life for the last one.

My mother always loved him. She loved him so much that even if she came out of the grave she would forgive him again. Do you understand what I mean? His brother spoke to a Swedish policeman on the phone a month later.

The brother also claims that the family has suffered a tragedy that is very difficult to understand and to live with. Something like that never happens in Albanian history so the boy can kill both his parents...

Four days after the couple were found dead, Kosovo police contacted Sweden for help in investigating two Swedish citizens. At the time, the 37-year-old boy had already been identified as the prime suspect, and his actions were described after the assassination.

Surveillance cameras in the neighborhood where the marriage couple lived show a man leaving home and riding in a taxi he goes to Skopje, Macedonia. From there he passes on Istanbul, where it undergoes a hair transplant at a private clinic. For intervention he pays cash.

The other brother and the desperate sister in Sweden gets no information about how the investigation is going. Almost a month after the murder, the boy calls at the regional police station and feels depressed and scared. The response operator promises him that he will try to learn whether an investigation is under way.

Shortly thereafter, on the same day, the police call him and tell him that his parents are not even registered as dead in Sweden but that there is an investigation into the couple's death. The investigation is headed by police in Kosovo. Police also try to explain to him that cases become more complicated when crimes are committed in other countries. There is a need for legal assistance and management takes time.

Perhaps a brother's conversation has become an incentive to speed things up. Two weeks later, the 37-year-old was arrested in a small apartment in Mölnbo, a small municipality in Södertälje municipality.

On his phone and computer that has been seized, police find things that may lead to the unlocking of history.

For a few months now, this man was trying to find a hit man “ ” hit killer via various websites. He wants to see his whole family dead and that the time has come for revenge.

The price of committing murder is discussed in the messages. The 37-year-old eventually pays a advance of 1300 euros through a payment service, but understands later that he has been deceived and that he must implement it himself.

His mother and father had just traveled to Kosovo after last year's holidays in Sweden. Since seven years ago, they had spent more and more time in their country of origin, and they also run a business in Prizren.

The same day they were killed, the man had withdrawn 40,000 euros from the company. This was a recent business income, and this money had disappeared from home.

According to the prosecutor, in conversations with the false assassin from Ukraine, the 37-year-old had also declared that he wanted to see his parents dead because he himself wanted to take over the company.

The 37-year-old denies crime and has sometimes refused to be questioned by police during the investigation. He says someone else must have killed his parents, and that they had left them alive when he was headed for the Istanbul.

The payment of 1300 euros had been a debt and not a loan to any assassin:

All this was just online conversation, nothing else, he says in the investigation.

Police and prosecutors have been unable to trace where the money went:

This part of the investigation is still open, says prosecutor Olof Kalmvik from the Rio International Prosecutor's Chamber, which conducts the investigation.

The investigation seems to have had a variety of problems of psychiatric nature, but it was never addressed in Sweden.

The trial will last for seven days at the Stockholm District Court. The prosecutor will seek eternal punishment for suspected double murder. /U. By-Dagens Nyheter/s/s/
