Authorities in the Netherlands activated the red alarm after the snowstorm, which caused the temperature to drop to 6 degrees, writes the Daily Mail.
It was scheduled for schools to reopen after a week of closure due to the pandemic, but authorities ordered that schools remain closed due to extreme weather.
The testing and vaccination centres for Covid-19 in at least eight towns, including Haarlem and Del Helder.
Meanwhile in Germany, trucks were trapped on the A4 highway because of snowfall. Even the railway operator said some services have been suspended in the country's central and northern parts.
