The Russian opposition leader, who was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison, criticised the last hearing as a pretentious “judgment for PR [public resolutions]” meant to discredit, writes The Guardian, translates Periscopi.
Last June, Russia's investigative committee launched an investigation into charges against Navalnya for slander, as the politician in question called people in a video promoting corrupt constitutional reforms “bulls” and “people without conscience” and even “tractor”.
The authorities decided that Navally's comments “recognised the honour and dignity of the veteran's” in the video. If convicted, the Navajo will have to pay a fine or community service. /Periscope
