Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore has reacted to statements by the Russian Foreign Ministry, which considers Albanian parties as nationalists.

MPJD through a media communique considers that all Albanian parties in Kosovo have clear pro-Western and Euro-Atlantic orientation.

Last month's <x0van), the Republic of Kosovo has marked the 13th anniversary of its independence. Although Russia has been involved in the process of resolving Kosovo's status, along with five other Contact Group nations, eventually upset the consensus by threatening with the V ETO any resolution at the UN UN that would enable the establishment of the state of Kosovo. In 2010, Russia again opposed the opinion of the International Court of Justice on the legality of Kosovo's independence, even though Serbia, with Russia's support, had insisted on an opinion by the UN General Assembly on an opinion by UNR”, the MPJD says.

Furthermore, Russia has reportedly tried to use Kosovo's case to compare it with other cases in the world, both Georgia and Ukraine, and other crises in the Caucasus and elsewhere, but in each case it has failed.

“Since the start of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, through its actions Russia has always tried to prevent reaching an agreement. Construction of a “humaniac base in Nis near Kosovo, the launch of a train sponsored by Russia to engage violently in Kosovo, the organisation of incidents in the country's north by Russian members of UN in Kosovo, Russian sponsorships to produce “fake news” in Kosovo and the region, serious commitments of Russian diplomacy to condition states and leaders designated to attract recognition of Kosovo, as well as many other public and non-public actions at different international forums, clearly show the tendency to disrupt the Russian process of peace and peace in the region. In this way Russia aims to destroy the western influence and impose the Russian”, it says in response.

The MPJD further says Kosovo independence has come as a result of a process, which has gone through all levels of the international system.

Kosovo's state legislation has also received the unanimous assessment of the JND, that this process has been made in line with International Law. He's known by 117 independent states. As a new and democratic state, Kosovo has been witnessing as a responsible and serious country over the past 13 years, which is constantly intended to advance good neighbourly, regional and wider relations. Days ago, Kosovo held its extraordinary elections. Although under pandemic circumstances, with the election process of February 14th, Kosovo's institutions and people testified to sharing European democratic values, where the law and the word of the people are valued and respected. These choices were a model for the region, and perhaps for many Western countries”.

According to the MPJD, despite democratic political changes, Kosovo enjoys the broad consensus for commitment to dialogue for mutual recognition with Serbia, “on defined principles of respect for territorial integrity, constitutional order, and its unitary character, in coronned terms, and with a defined epilogue, mutual recognition as the only solution guaranteeing stability and lasting peace in the region”.
