Muskogee police responded to a phone call for multiple shots fired at a house about 1: 30 a.m.
When they arrived at the scene, they found a man carrying a gun who was immediately shot by police. They missed the target, but the suspect was still arrested after running.
Inside the house, they found a man and four children dead, with a newborn baby sent by helicopter to the Tulsa hospital.
The child then died of injuries sustained during the shooting.
Police confirmed that all those who were shot belonged to the same family.
Police said they did not know the motive for the event yet. /Periscope
