Kurti says dialogue can shift as fourth priority, not higher

Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti, in an interview for the Croatian daily “Jutarnji list”, has said that Kosovo, even when it becomes prime minister, will participate in dialogue, but will not be trapped for dialogue to be understood with transaction logic, under which “must be given something for something”. He has said [...]
I'm sorry, but this is the theme of the president of Serbia, who tells foreign diplomats that he will eventually recognise Kosovo, but will first know what Kosovo will give. So he wants to know what Kosovo is willing to give, and at the same time he doesn't know we won't plant in that trap. We need to get out of this transactional logic, that transatlantic and transformative. Reports between Kosovo and Serbia should be based on equality and reciporacy. Let dialogue be in the serious and sincere future, and parties present their positions in a transparent and democratic manner. Dialogue in the future should be decided in order for citizens to benefit, not in order for a certain politician to preserve the face of another skin. That's why I think we need to change our approach, not to accept logic. What you're giving me to get. As President Beden has said, dialogue should be aimed at mutual recognition, rather than transaction logic, which led to the idea of exchange of territory”, Kurti said.
He has added that an agreement would transform both Serbia and Kosovo and, as he put it, “13 years after Kosovo was independent, the time has come for Serbia to be independent from Kosovo”.
In the repeated question of what Kosovo can give, because even in Brussels some circles think “Serbia must benefit something from the” dialogue, Kurti has replied that he “has no understanding of tears for the losses of Milosevic's Serbia, much less for the logic that these losses must now be compensated for”. He said that “Balkan today does not need an idea of the XIX”.
Kurti has said that today's Serbia should distance itself from Milosevic, not seek compensation for its losses, because it is again being identified with that policy.
Kurti in this interview has once again clarified what she thought when she said dialogue with Serbia is not a top priority. He has said he can move this priority from the sixth or seventh position, where citizens put it according to polls in the fourth position. But no more, because the first three priorities must be the COVID-19 pandemic, like everywhere else, employment and justice that have been major pre-election pledges. Albin Kurti in this interview said that “does not underestimate him, but does not exceed the dialog”. He has said he will negotiate a coalition with MPs from non-Serb minorities, and even with some Serb who eventually win mandates and does not come from the Serbian List. She has ruled this out because she sees it as Belgrade's <x2-instrument” and because in March 2020 her members had voted for the collapse of the government, even though at no time had expressed any remarks. Kurti in this interview has expressed optimism that the fight against corruption and organised crime will be successful and, as he put it, “easier than Mahx5> is thought. According to him, the “corruption in Kosovo is not in the society, but in institutions ʹ and at the top of the” institutions. He has particularly cited the need for the anti-mafia law, the seizure of illegal and unwarranted property, as well as the property in the prosecutor, the court, high levels of police and intelligence services. Asked about co-operation with the international community, since at the beginning of his movement he had attacked some of them, including EULEX, Kurti has said he expects the international community now to help Kosovo in the fight against organised crime and corruption, to perform a job that, according to him, “and did not commit, and carried out<>. He said the “unwarranted wealth, becoming one of the richest people, some politicians in Kosovo have created UNMIK and EULEX's nose before the eyes and noses” and that “proves that even criticism against them has been justified”.
