Education is the system we all go through. I had the joy of having a conversation with Fernando M. Reimers, professor at Harvard University since 1998. He runs the International Education Policy programme at the postgraduate level and is a member of the U Commission. NESTO on the future of education. Professor Reimers' numerous research and books focus on preparing children and young people for the 21st century through interventions in public education. Its publications include educating students to improve the World, Letters for a New Education Minister and Education Management during COVID-1950. We talked over the challenges of education and policies that we plan for the next mandate, starting with free scores for all children, eliminating grades for lower elementary school, new curriculums and dual education that connect professional skills with the labour market.
At the meeting, Reimers stressed the importance of simultaneous reforms in three areas of public life: rule of law, economy and education. These three, when functioning properly and co-ordinated, constitute the largest development potential in Kosovo. We know that most classrooms in schools are overloaded, and a reform Professor Reimers proposed that has worked for similar states is the engagement of teachers and all levels.
Movement V It plans to encourage the best Master level students to engage in teaching, and to offer continued professional preparations at the national level for all. The importance of reading, access to books in each class, and time devoted to reading during classes was also discussed. Reading is for the mind what food is for the body. New and supplied libraries for all schools are our government priorities for education. Finally, Reimers stressed that education achieves its goals only when the whole community is involved.
Neighborhood school can become community center. We all have responsibilities toward children and young people, not only as public servants, but as parents, residents, and citizens. So it takes each one's commitment to support students with love, activism and collective presence.
