Physical assault on journalist Visar Durqi must be uncovered and punished with priority. Such cases remind us that a different opinion and free speech are targeted whenever they affect issues layered and business interests and power.

We dare not be indifferent to such attacks, however isolated they may seem. Whenever free speech is violated, the issue gets political size and should be addressed as such. And whenever these cases remain undiscovered, they encourage a disciplined behavior of journalists in the face of power and as a rule, their repetition in the event of eventual inconsistencies.

On the other hand, before these issues are investigative and police issues, they are issues of resistance to authoritarianism and populism that encourage the strong and strip citizens and journalists of their rights.
